BaSIA contains 6,749,313 records from over 700 places in western Poland!
The BaSIA project, i.e. the 'Archival Indexing System Database', was created for a wide circle of genealogists and researchers of the history of Greater Poland in the 18th–20th centuries (although it also contains older information).
Through a friendly interface, it gives users access to a database of indexes prepared by volunteers from materials kept, among others, in state and church archives.
In it you can find the surnames of the persons you are looking for, links to scans of vital records and other information that helps to identify families, places and the basic facts of their history.
The database is built with the ASIA application ('Automatic Archival Indexing System'), which above all allows archival records to be indexed in a friendly way, and at the same time acts as an intermediary
in the process of indexing and publishing its results online.
Everyone interested is welcome to take part in the project.
This search engine is and will remain free. If it has helped you in your research, you can buy me a virtual coffee – every contribution helps to maintain and further develop the service.

You can also support the volunteers who index the records – if an indexer has added their account, a ☕ icon appears next to their name in the records and in the list of recently added books.

Poznan Project – over 2 million records from 19th-century marriage records from Greater Poland and Kuyavia (1800–1899), created by volunteers from all over the world. It helps to find out in which parish or civil registry office your ancestors married.
